FULMER EARNS ACCREDITATION

BIRMINGHAM – Ashley Fulmer, public relations director for Style Advertising, has earned the distinction accredited in public relations (APR). Fulmer, a member of the Birmingham Chapter of the Public Relations Council of Alabama (PRCA), joins the ranks of approximately 5,000 nationally accredited PR professionals.

The accreditation exam is administered by the Universal Accreditation Board, which represents nine professional PR organizations throughout the country, including PRCA. The exam, a standardized, computer-based test, assesses candidates’ knowledge, experience and professional judgment in the field of public relations.

Fulmer earned her bachelor’s degree from the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) in 2001, majoring in mass communication with a specialization in public relations. Prior to joining Style Advertising in 2005, Fulmer served as community relations coordinator for the UAB Athletic Department for two years. Before that, she also worked with the UAB Creative and Marketing Group and Concepts Public Relations.

Fulmer is an active member and board member of PRCA-Birmingham. She has served the board in several roles and is currently the vice president of projects. She also serves as the local media chair for “Laps for Cystic Fibrosis.”

PRCA is a statewide organization of PR professionals representing local, state and international non-profit organizations, corporations and agencies. The organization exists to foster relationships and the exchange of ideas among PR professionals and to promote the profession and high standards of conduct by practitioners.
