BIRMINGHAM PRCA CHAPTER TO SPONSOR CHILDREN’S BOOK DRIVE

BIRMINGHAM – The Birmingham chapter of the Public Relations Council of Alabama (PRCA-B) invites the public to donate new or almost new children’s books to the organization as part of its children’s book drive during this holiday season.

All books received will benefit the Literacy Council of Central Alabama (LCCA). The Literacy Council serves as a clearinghouse for literacy information and referrals in the five-county metropolitan Birmingham area. The LCCA also conducts public awareness campaigns designed to keep the crisis of illiteracy in the public eye.

Anyone interested in donating books should contact Adam Kelley (adam.kelley@chsys.org) at 205/558-2947. PRCA-B members should bring books to the Dec. 4th chapter meeting, to be held from 11:45 a.m. till 1 p.m. at the Metropolitan Development Board office off Valley Avenue (500 Beacon Parkway West).

PRCA is the state's longest operating and largest group of public relations practitioners. PRCA exists to further the professional and networking interests of today's public relations and communication professional in private, public and nonprofit businesses and organizations. Along with networking, PRCA offers career development and civic improvement opportunities, seeks to mentor college students and works to improve the professionalism of public relations practice through its accreditation program.

To donate books, or find out more information about this event, contact Kelley or visit www.prca-b.com.
