Social Media Coordinator at PeopleLink HR

PeopleLink HR is a staffing agency for a high profile client in Birmingham . This client has a full-time (M-F, 8-4:30) social media coordinator position open. This is a contract position (long-term, temporary assignment). The candidate would work in the marketing department with primary responsibility being directed toward blogging, Twitter-ing, maintaining a Facebook page and varied social media related duties. The person in this position also has event planning responsibilities and provides support within the department. Obviously, the candidate would need to have above average writing skills and prior experience in a business setting with the mentioned social media. The pay scale for this position is around $12/hour dependant upon experience. Interested parties will need to pass a drug test and have a clean background. HealthSouth’s communications department in Birmingham, Alabama, offers paid internship positions to communications, public relations and journalism majors. Interns will have the opportunity to work directly for the corporate office and the company’s nationwide network of hospitals. HealthSouth looks for students who are committed to a career in communications as exemplified in their studies, college clubs/organizations, prior internships or prior media work experience. Description:

Indian Springs School is seeking a highly motivated communications/web editor intern to help with the editorial production of content published the Indian Springs School website. This is an excellent opportunity to participate in all stages of content creation from inception to publishing. Proposed length of internship is three (3) to six (6) months; approximately 20 hours per week.



Responsibilities:

  • Write/edit news and feature articles on school news, student and faculty accomplishments, alumni events, etc.
  • Update existing web content as directed by Director of Development or Assistant Director of Development.
  • Take photos of ISS students, events and accomplishments.
  • Assist with creation and distribution of eSprings Forward e-newsletter.
  • Assist with development and production of other materials, including school publications and videos.
  • Guide the school’s presence on Facebook with regular postings on campus events and news.
  • Other responsibilities as needed.

Qualifications:

  • The ideal candidate will have at least two years of college courses and be working toward a degree in a related field or an equivalent background (journalism, publishing, English, writing, editing, etc.).
  • Excellent writing/editing skills. Detail oriented, resourceful, and self-motivated.
  • Able to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
